Dead Sea Salts Baths Helping Slowly
from Amy S.

I've never been able to laugh about my P, scalp P, Nail P and PA before I found this site.  I'm so glad I did.  My family and friends think my constant flaking is disgusting, and I'm continually getting free "advice" from non-sufferers.  I'm glad to know that it's not just my friends who think that it's not going away just because I'm not trying hard enough.

I first got P about 6 years ago, but it has gotten steadily worse and invaded more parts of my body as time goes on, despite my efforts to control it.

I'm currently taking baths with 1 kg dead sea salt per bath, 3 times per week for 20 minutes each time.  It seems to be helping very slowly.  At least it doesn't seem to be progressing.

I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again for putting this site together, -Amy S.

Ed’s Response:  Glad you found us, Amy.  Sounds like you’re experiencing P just like most of us ... disgusting your family and friends, getting advice from everywhere, feeling alone with your condition....

Based solely on this email, it sounds as though you’re taking mild and safe courses to control your flaking (though a kilogram of salt per bath doesn’t exactly sound “light”).  Only you know when it’s time to try other methods to control your condition, but when that time comes you will find many options — and the list is growing all the time.

If you haven’t already, think about joining the National Psoriasis Foundation.  They are the best avenue I know to stay aware of treatments, breakthroughs, setbacks, et. al.  Getting their publications and participating in their activities also diminishes one’s sense of isolation.

Meanwhile, do keep dropping by here.  I look forward to hearing how things go, particularly how well the Dead Sea bath salts work for you over time.  -Ed
